Young people ages 11-25 must create a piece of work representing their ‘rainbow’ / positive light through dark times – either by using colour, new materials, their skills or another creative way to represent their feelings in their piece.

In agreement with Youth Arts the artist will set a detailed brief for participants (this will be introduced and/or demonstrated during the workshops). Participants will go on to develop their skills and techniques to create and title their pieces for submission to the competition.

Part of the competition is that all participants host their own exhibition in a gallery where their families and friends can attend an official launch.

The winner and two runners up also receive art supplies, including appropriate tools/ materials for their chosen art form and further support from the SONIG & Youth Arts Team.

The successful artist will require to provide their own up to date DBS certificate and public liability insurance. We require your commitment to the following which will be delivered at your own convenience throughout the year:

• To be able to co-ordinate and deliver 6 x 2.5 hour sessions in total – in schools and in the community

• A day to shortlist entries, select winners and write short feedback statements

• To prepare the Exhibition Launch
