Pitch Pot

Pitch Pot is our new seed funding programme designed to give artists the time, space, and resources to explore new artistic ideas at their earliest stage.

These ideas may progress on to full commissions, productions, or co-productions with the service, or continue their development elsewhere.

About Pitch Pot

The programme is made possible by support from Arts Council Wales (ACW), and as such there is a limit on what art forms we can support. As defined by ACW, these are: Carnivals, Festivals and Circus, Craft, Dance, Drama, Literature, Music, Opera, Theatre, Visual Arts.

Please refer to Appendix A below this page for further definition and guide from ACW, as some of their definitions may differ from your own.

Beyond these definitions we have no preferred art form. However, please bear in mind that we operate 3 theatre venues and have no gallery space. As a result, we are better placed to support performance-based projects.

  • Funding of up to £5,000.

  • Rehearsal/making space at one of our venues (subject to availability).

  • Guidance from service officers in developing your idea and advice on next steps.

  • Support in engaging community groups/the public.

  • Access to technical support and equipment (subject to availability).

  • Opportunities to share your work publicly.

  • Applicants who consider their practice and work to be in line with our Mission, Vision, and Values (Please see Appendix B below the page).

  • Activity that takes place in RCT and culminates in a sharing.

  • Priority will be given to RCT-based artists and companies.

  • If an applicant or group of applicants is not based in RCT we expect their proposal to outline a meaningful connection to the local area and/or a commitment to supporting the development of local artists as part of the activity.

  • Activity that happens between January and March 2025.

To apply please submit your answers to the following questions along with your CV and examples of your previous work to creativeindustries@rctcbc.gov.uk by 5pm on the Friday 1st November 2024.

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a meeting with representatives of the service and some critical friends.

  2. Who is it for? (200 words max)

  3. How would you like to develop it and what costs may be associated? (200 words max)
